Firstly the team at Hyperdome Doctors would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the patients who have taken the time to provide feedback. This vital information allows us to constantly evolve and improve. While we really appreciate the 90% scorecard, it’s the 10% where we can learn about areas we can deliver an even better service aligned to your wants and needs.
Out of the latest feedback report a few topics were highlighted and we wanted to share our thoughts and the ways we plan to change.

Surgery wait times
We know that long wait times are frustrating and inconvenient. Our receptionists and doctors aim to allot each patient their 15 minute standard appointment but there are times where extenuating circumstances occur. It can happen to all of us at one time or another, where we unintentionally take longer than usual as we work through unforeseen complications. In these instances we ask for patience and understanding as these are often sensitive medical issues being dealt with.
We encourage all patients to discuss their most vital issues first and if time allows move onto other topics or make another appointment to discuss further. Alternatively there is the option to book a double appointment which allows more time.
At reception we are increasing our awareness around this topic and trying to shed awareness on appointment lengths and the option to book a longer time.
Our aim is for our patients to feel heard and work through their medical issues while trying to keep appointment times running on schedule.

Extended surgery hours
There has been high demand for extended hours and we are constantly on the look-out for doctors who are interested in meeting these needs. We are excited to announce that Saturday appointments are available from October 2022 starting with a half day with plans to extend in the near future.
Our aim is to start offering Thursday night appointments in the New Year – stand by for more details as this becomes available.

Changes in doctors
Unlike our receptionists, nurses and management, all of our doctors contract to the surgery and are not ‘staff’ members. Unfortunately we cannot control the duration of their stay and changes in life circumstances can, at times, force their hand to move away. When seeking new GP’s we try to select ones who ‘fit’ to ensure our loyal patient base get the high level care they are used to. They are always experienced, caring and happy to go the extra mile. We do our best to farewell doctors via our website news feed and alert patients of departures when they next make an appointment.
If a change in doctor impacts other specialists or medical providers please let reception know so they can contact you directly.

Home visits
While some of our doctors exclusively offer home visits to palliative care and to patients with no mobility, it is not a service offered in general. In more recent times our phone consultations have certainly assisted many patients, offering a convenient alternative when they are otherwise unable to come into the surgery. Initially introduced to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 this service has remained in place and is utilised by many patients.
